Where in the world is the Co-op?
Great question, we get that a lot. We’re on Kensington Road off of Westcott St. It’s a residential road a few blocks south of the Westcott business district. Here’s a map, or feel free to call us for directions: (315) 472-1385.
I have to be a member to shop at the Co-op, don’t I?
No way! Everybody can shop at the Co-op! In fact, bring your friend, your neighbor, your dog (park him or her outside, please). Bring everyone you know! Everyone’s welcome.
So, you carry, like, vegan food?
Sure, we have vegan products like almond milk and soy milk, meat substitutes, etc. But we also have a great meat selection featuring local, grass fed and organic meats. It’s our job to provide food to everyone that eats, and we think there’s room in the world for vegans, vegetarians, omnivores, carnivores, local-vores and whatever-else-avores!
What is a food Co-op anyway?
A Co-op is an organization that exists to serve the needs of the people who use it. Since we’re a food Co-op, we exist to provide healthy, organic, local, and alternative food products to our community of shoppers and owners (as well as some good old conventional stuff, too). If you’re interested in learning about the Cooperative movement, check out the Rochdale Society of Equitable Pioneers and the very first co-op store in 1844 on Toad Lane in Rochdale, England.
Why is the Co-op awesome?
Because we care about our community, and it shows! We’re a collection of over 2,400 invested member/owners (and thousands of shoppers) who support local farmers and producers, invest in eco-friendly, healthy products, and to contribute to community health and wellness.
